Beach Glass Jewelry
Hi! Today I will be talking about Beach Glass Jewelry. Making beach glass jewelry is one of my favourite hobbies. Most of you probably haven’t seen or heard of Beach Glass Jewelry or beach glass before, and if you have, its probably because I have given you a piece of beach glass. It is basically just glass that has been broken up and put into the sea or ocean. Then the glass has been worn down by the water and then washed up on shore where people find it. It is very pretty because it comes in all shapes, sizes, and colours. Some common colours of beach glass are: Brown, blue, clear, and green, even though I have seen and found the colours red, purple, and yellow. Beach glass can come in many sizes with some pieces being as small as a grain of sand, or some being 4 inches in length. I have lots of beach glass from when I went to Nova Scotia in 2012 and found it on the beach.
Beach glass jewelry is actually pretty easy to make….once you get the hang of it. All you really need is some wire and wire tools, beach glass and beads. You just have to make a loop in the middle of the wire then put it at the top of the beach glass and wrap it around the glass. After or during, you can add beads to it. Most of the time you can find the glass on the beach in Nova Scotia or on any other beach even though it is most commonly found in Nova Scotia. When I went there for a vacation, I filled a whole box of beach glass and brought it home to make jewelry. At a fundraiser to raise money for my metaphorical great aunts cancer treatments, I sold the jewelry I had made and raised about $100 selling them for $5 each.
I have been making beach glass jewelry since I was 8 years old. It is really fun to do if you are a girl.( not saying it isn’t fun if you’re a boy) Last weekend , I went to my aunts house for a sleepover to make beach glass jewelry. It was really fun because we also did rainbow loom ,watched a movie and she made me a pair of earrings in 30 mins !
After I had to go to a birthday party and I gave the birthday girl a necklace charm for her birthday. I also gave my teacher last year a necklace charm for her birthday.

I don't think I have never heard of Beach Glass, but I have heard of Moon Sand.Moon Sand is pretty cool it is something that when you put in the water it turns hard when its not in water it turns soft like regular sand. I played with this once at my friends house I was pretty young so I thought it was pretty awesome at the time but now I like video games like normal 11 years old.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite hobbie is to play Soccer but I can't always play this hobbie, the hobbie I'm talking about is Soccer and other sports I play indoor soccer in the winter because that's the only time when I cant play it outside.
I also have another hobbie and that's skating I like to go skating with my friends so we can play a good old fashion game of hockey.My least favourite hobbie is playing this one game I made up with my friends where you have to make a fort, then you get your Nerf guns and tennis balls and try to destroy the other teams fort with what you have, you also have to try to shoot the other player if you shoot them they are out until the other player gets one of the other players .

I have heard of beach glass, and seen it many times. It's made by teenager who break bottles and don't clean up, and after a while, the water dulls it until it looks like a piece of purple (green, blue, and occasionally pink). I am not particularly interested in beach glass jewellery... at all.
ReplyDeleteNo, I have never made anything out of beach glass ( other then a smashed up pile of green glass) and I am not intending on it in anyway. If I ever really wanted to play with beach glass, it would be putting in my brothers shoes. He did that to me once with ice, dirt, metal, and cottage cheese, when I ended up stepping in it, mud started gushing out of my boots. Anyway, beach glass jewellery is not often that rare, well... maybe it would be pretty hard to find considering we live in Edmonton, but its not really a legendary treasure. And I have not seen anything made up from beach glass, other then beach glass.
Some of my everyday hobbies are playing video games, soccer, biking, watching TV, and snowboarding. I don't have many hobbies, compared to some people that I know.

ReplyDeleteI don't think I have ever seen beach glass jewellery let alone heard off it. I am guessing I have seen a piece before somewhere but I'm not sure what it looked like so I probably. All so never have received a piece of jewellery so the answer to the question is no.
I only have one favourite hobbies that is collecting rock and fossils. That is my only hobbies currently and I don't think I will have any more hobbies later on.
No,I have never found beach glass any where before that would be because I never really go any place with a beach to find beach glass. It is pretty hard to find beach glass when you don't go to a beach very often.

My favourite hobby is model car collecting. I already have a model 1963 or 1959 Chevrolet Corvette convertible. It is a baby blue model. My grandfather gave it to me. It is very special to me. I am looking forward to collecting more model cars.
I have not found beach glass anywhere. I don't know what it looks like and feels like. It would be amazing to see. I bet it would have spectacular colours.

Wow nice blog, I love beach glass jewellery it is very cool I have actually only made beach glass once. At first it was confusing and I got frustrated so I threw it and it broke I had to go and calm down and then make a new one. I've only been to Nova Scotia twice once when I was little, and once when I was about 8 and I found beach glass and that was when I made beach glass for the first time. Now I had no idea you could sell those I tried but my neighbourhood is soooo quiet and soooo boring I only got one customer so yeah.

I have received a piece of beach glass I was the birthday girl that got a beach glass necklace it was blue on a gold chain and little clear white beads it was so nice and I love it. My favourite hobbies are reading and swimming. As I said before I have found beach glass. I really enjoy making beach glass and I wish I could make it all the time and again nice blog ~lem! Oh and I wanted to ask you how many beach glass things you have made I have seen alot of your beach glass and I love it it is sooo cool. I have another hobby it is drawing so bye lem great blog.

First off, think about where that glass has been, the ocean is a disgusting place and second of all beach glass is just glass, you could smash a bottle (I don't encourage it) and then sand paper the edges or even put it in the sink then presto beach glass and I understand it would take a long time to smooth it out in water but you are making high quality broken glass products so expect it to take years upon years. Answers: No I have never heard of it and No I am interested in it. No I have not received ocean trash jewelry. My favourite hobby is probably building Lego and not playing video games. I would assume you could only find beach glass on the beach but yes I have. I think the conclusion of what I have been trying to say the whole time that it is gross to wear garbage jewelry

Yes,I have heard of beach glass and it is beautiful. When I went to Hawaii,Maui I found some beach glass and it was so cool. My brother found some too and i think we still have it. Once I found beach glass of made of the top of a wine bottle or some other type of bottle, but it looked like a wine bottle.
ReplyDeleteI have received some thing made out of beach glass but it was for my whole family. They are little animals and incests made of beach glass and wire. Me and my little sister have crabs and they claws and bead eyes. They also have shell body. We also have fish that are hanging in my kitchen from my light. We also have mosquitoes,Dragon flys and bugs.
My favourite hobby is is to paint,draw,sleep,play hockey,soccer,football and lots of other things but I can't explain it.

So far, my favourite hobby is to launch model rockets. So far, I have made 6 model rocket that run on ESTES engines. The thing that you have to look out for when getting model rocket engines is what number they are. The reason that you need to get the right engines is, because each engine is a different size and also, some are more powerful then others. The rocket that I have recently launched is called the BLUE NINJA, because it is 34 inches tall, 5 cm wide, runes on D-12 engines, and it goes 750 ft in the air. The smallest, but fastest rocket that I have ever launched is about 15 inches tall, 2 cm wide, and runs on A-10 engines, which go 550 feet high. The smallest engine that I have used is an A-10, which is 1 cm wide and is 4 cm tall. The biggest engine that I have used is a D-12, which is 2.5 cm wide and 9 cm tall.

I have never heard of beach glass but there is a possibility I may have found some. If I found beach glass I would be very happy because it sound so delicate and beautiful to have have. I have gotten a piece of jewellery that could have been beach glass or looked very similar to it. I got it from my cousins for my 5 birthday. They said it was from Hawaii,so there is a possibility it was beach glass. The piece of jewellery I got from my cousins was pink and purple,I don't know if beach glass can come in pink.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite hobby is to collect books. When I was in grade 2 I collected all of the Junie.B.Jones. Now I have collected all of the Harry Potter series. I am still working on the first book but I am almost finished the book. My other favourite hobby is to collect rocks. I haven't collected a lot of rocks this time of year because it is winter time and it is hard to find rocks. The best rock I ever found,it looked like it was from planet Mars.

I have never heard of beach glass in my life. This does explain a bit, every time i go to the beach i see pieces of glass that is colored, i mostly see small pieces but i always thought there were part of a broken beer bottle or something. My favorite is playing video games because i really don't have anything else to do, besides homework. I sometimes just stay on the couch and watch TV. This kinda reminds me of stained glass, which is the same thing. I have seen people walking around with beach glass, but never knew the name to it. I can see in the future there is going to have a art project on this. And what is your other hobbies, other then beach glass. I just mostly play with my friends as my hobby, I am a boring person. I have seen beach glass at the beaches of B.C, when i went there. I can image beach glass looks very nice, but its not my type of thing, but i can see why you like it so much

ReplyDeleteI have never received a piece of beach glass, or something that looked like beach glass because I don't know what beach glass looks like. I'm not sure if I received beach glass but maybe I have, but I didn't know I did. So I pretty much never got beach glass.
My hobbies are drawing, football, soccer, basket ball, pool, skateboarding, biking, snowboarding, reading and I can't remember the rest but there's a few more.
I have never found beach glass anywhere in my life. Or something like beach glass but I would like to maybe find some.

3) As you can probably guess my biggest hobbies are make-up and fashion and all that jazz. However I also like to knit. Right now I’m working on a scarf and it is taking so very, very long. I’ve been working on it since before November and I’m only half done. Granted I haven’t been working on it in a while. Another hobby I have is to make yarn or string bracelets. I started making them around two or three years ago.
4) I have found a lot of sea glass in British Columbia, mainly on the Island, all colours. Is there that much glass in Nova Scotia? I have never been so I don’t really know.

I am going to give it to you straight up, I don't like crafty stuff. I do enjoy art when it involve getting messy. My favourite hobby is playing sports, especially soccer, soccer is my favourite sport I don't know why. I have been playing my sport since I was 5 and I have played the sport since.

I HAVE heard if beach glass and my cousin likes to collect it. My cousin does not make beach glass into bracelets, though. Instead, she collects boxes and boxes of it and trades it in at the recycling depot in with other stuff and collects the money.

My FAVOURITE hobby is RC cars. I do not mean toy RCs from WAL*MART but, like, REAL RC cars that go 45 kph and have oil filled double wishbone shocks and E.S.C and stuff... You May not know what ANY of those things mean but that's OK; I do lots of research on this kinda' stuff. Right now I own a Losi (a company) RC right now. It DOES have E.S.C (electronic speed control) and oil filled double wishbone suspention. It Isn't waterproof and the motor and everything is built into one so It will be hard to replace something if I need to. It goes 51kph right now and can climb a 45d slope but thats enough of my RC cars!! I also like collecting rocks and stones and pebbles.
I have found beach glass but usually give it to my cousin Neko. The coolest piece of glass I've found was a piece of glass literally frozen INSIDE a rock. That one I have In my rock collection.

That sounds like an interesting hobby and it seems like a good cheap way to make jewelry and good money it also seems like a good gift to give. It must be challenging to find all the materials. Making beach jewelry must be a fun arts and crafts project.
ReplyDeleteMy hobby is origami witch is the art of paper folding which requires patience and focus and what i like about the most is that you can make simple models almost out of any paper which makes a thing that can be done anywhere when your bored. My favourite thing to do is build things, any things out of anything except for obvious “organic materials”. Anyways anything that involves creativity and interactions with objects ill probably find it amusing. If i could have another hobby I would pick up rock/mountain climbing. The one thing i would never do would probably be a farmer because of all of the hard work witch i would hate and i'm not too strong. but i'd like to try making beach jewelry because i like arts and crafts. I will always like making things and that will probably guide my future.
