School

Most kids are going off to middle school know, some are excited some are not. Once where off in middle school we will have to live without a couple things that are little but are important in some way or another. We will have no recess, which i could honestly care less about but for some people, it is the end of the world. We won’t have every subject taught in one class, you would have to go to a different class every time it is a new subject, which is the end of me. Lockers... are the worst, we won’t have hooks anymore, i get assigned a locker to store my stuff in. Those  are  just some of the changes, another big one is taking a shower after gym and giants are constantly around you.
In elementary we don’t get homework everyday but when you get homework it is very easily done in middle school you get homework every single day and the homework is much harder. The teachers act a little more advanced now, like they won’t give second chances to people that didn’t do it ,cough*.

Some could say that is terrible, I agree, but Jr.High can have some good things too. Now we get to pick some optional classes  that look really good we also won’t be teased for being young. In the school i'm going to there is hot lunch every single but no cafeteria we eat in this thing called “The Pit”,which looks similar to the music room. There is one class about robotics and how to survive in the wild. We won’t be treated like little kids anymore and it will be very scary on the first day, but i promise it will be better just give it a couple days you will get used to the change . Jr.High is where everything starts falling your in place, when you decide what you want to be when you're older what your life is going to mean .

As you can read school gets a lot harder so enjoy what time you have left in elementary !

I have some questions

Are you excited for middle school? If so why, if not why?
What classes are you going to take?
Which parts are hard to get used to?

  1. I am kind of excited for middle school, because I have heard rumors that middle school is the worst, but I am excited to find out if those rumors are true. On lots of movies, there are lots of scenes that show bad things of middle school, such as locking kids in lockers for the whole day.

The options that I hope to take are robotics, band, outdoor education, and construction. The reason that I want to take band is, because I have always played a musical instrument, and I like to come up with my own songs. the reason that I want to take out door ed is, because I like to play outdoor sports and I have heard that outdoor ed has rock climbing.

In my opinion, I think that the hardest to get used to is where all of the classrooms are, because you need to know where to go for the next period.

  2. I'm am pretty excited for middle school sounds like fun although we're not going to the same one.Mine is going to fun too, When I went to the open house I saw lots of cool stuff we have robotics too we also have baking, wood work, wilderness survival class, drama and archery at lunch for everyone.

I'm going to take cooking class and wood work definitely and there's also other main classes like social, science, art and math that I hav't to take . There is also other programs that i'm going to take like indoor and outdoor soccer, volleyball and basketball.

I think the hardest part to get used to is not having recess, because that's when I get to run around and get tired and lose all my energy so I'm not jumping around like a monkey all day long.I also think I'm going to have to get used to the lockers to.They seem cool but at my new school I hope there big and non tiny.I think the hardest think there for sure is going to be to make some new friends. I remember when I was in 3rd grade I was putting my stuff on my hook and someone was to so I said he wanna be be friends he said sure so we were friends(but he left the school to go to Toronto).

  3. I am not excited for middle school nugget I will one of the smallest people there sadly . I also am excited though it is a change from being in the same school for so many years. Jr high is really not bad is you say nugget you don't get homework EVERYDAY almost though. I think I will enjoy the harder classes and being challenged. In my school hopefully I will make the AC classes for a more challenged class and sped up so I don't get bored, hopefully some of my friends will be there too!!! SO I am happy and I am also not happy .

In my school I am going to take outdoor Ed in grade 8 you go camping fishing its looks like one of the best classes for options. First out of cooking, construction, computers I want to do construction first it looks the most interesting and exciting. I also want to take band, because it is either drama or art so BAND. The instrument I want to play is trumpet.

For me the hard parts will be the fact everyone's taller than me but besides that it will be easy to get used to. I had lockers in grade 2 so those won't be different. The main change is no recess which I am happy about.

  4. Yes i am looking forward to going to middle school next year. I'm not sure why i'm excited for the next year maybe because there will be way more opportunities in middle school then there be in elementary school. in my opinion there would be alot more opportunities next you're well quite obviously. But there are some things that would be weird though about middle school. You wont see the familiar faces you're use to seeing everyday. Same thing with the teachers.

The classes im looking forward to taking are photography, physical ed, drama, band, and technology . I'm most looking forward to doing band class because i like music and all of that good stuff that involves it. (accept for country) BURN TO COUNTRY LOVERS.

Well the hardest parts for me to get used to i think are going to be not seeing all my classmates every morning new principle and teachers and maybe harder homework every night.

  5. I think middle school is kinda scary but, I am a little excited. Its because I won't have any of my friends at the school with me because the girls I'm friends with are all in grade 5 not grade 6 obviously. Now I think lockers are cool because first of all, you get to decorate them, and you get to put more stuff in them because, they have shelf's and you don't have to stuff everything in your backpack. I really don't want to go to gym but sometimes you have to. I am going to a school I really have no idea about but I think it's a good thing that the school I'm going to is K-12 so I might meet some friends but I just really want everyone that is in grade 5 that are going to that school to come and fast.

I agree with you about that you have to make it last while you can in Elementary school because you don't have that much time so be happy that your there and trust me it does get alot harder. I kinda already answered the first question so No and yes I mostly think I will choose some sort of art classes and I do know there is a band so I just might join. I already explained the the third question you know the people the classes and just about everything but there are some easy parts to Junior High I just hope it all works out for me and everyone who will be transferring to a new school (Junior High) or just any new school.

  6. Well, I'm not going to middle school next year. The reason being is extremely very very totally obvious..... Im in grade 5. So anyway..... I am going to go to Hardisy just because I live close and kind of have to :(..... Anyway I want to go to middle school just because I do. I will probably do soccer and basketball there just because those sports are fun. [I am being very "unspesific" because I want to... Make sense?] I will probably take a whole bunch of subjects in middle school, because I want to.

I am excited to go to junior high because it will be nice to start fresh at a new school, although I will miss Forest Heights just because it was a good school and we did lots of cool activities and such.[More specific] But whatever, I am still really excited to go to junior high

I am going to take subjects because I want to.... I will also go to school eeeeeevvvvvveeeeeeerrrrryyyyyyy day because I don't want to but I have to[Horrible]....

Ok well, this blog went from me being 8 years old to 10 years old to 3 years old.........!!!!!!!!!!!??? :)

  7. 1) I’m so excited for JUNIOR HIGH (not Middle School), because of the responsibility and being treated with more respect.
    2) I have no idea what I’m going to take. Maybe drama?
    3) Nothing, I feel like it will be a very smooth transition.

First of all, the homework is not super extreme. Yes there is more of it, but that doesn’t mean all you will be doing is homework. Secondly, whatever school you are going to I am sure you will have some sort of break at sometime. No one expects a twelve year old boy to pay attention for 5 hours straight. There will be a break at some point. Thirdly, giants? Really? They are in grade nine, not twelve, nine. Really? Also in Jr. High it is P.E. not “gym”. Jr. High is not that much harder. School is school.

  8. Great post, Nugget. Even though I am not in grade six yet(I'm not telling you who I am. hehehehehehehe, But I'm exited for Jr.high or middle school. I think it would be great to not be treated like a little kid. But more homework,NOOOOOOOOOO!! It cant be! D: I can wait for lockers though :D.

My thoughts on the classes are... ROBOTICS ALL THE WAY! I think it would be fun! But My fear of middle school and/or Jr.High is getting my body slammed in a locker. So, yeah. And the name for the pit sound funny. Like "imma bring you to the pit sucka!, for some lunch! :].

Middle school and/or Junior high would be cool. But showering would be uncomfortable... :-(. I'm also a little scared for Middle school/Junior high. Its going to be be weird. but I'm not in grade 6 so I have a couple years to think, so I'm happy :)

  9. I am a so excited for Middle School. One of the reasons I am excited is because I will start to learn harder this in the classes. The other reason I am excited is because I get to meet now kids and teachers. One reason that I am not excited is because of the homework,I have always dreaded homework. The reason I dislike homework is because you have just been at school for 6 hours then you got to do homework give me a break.

The classes I will be picking besides the ones I have to take are Home aic,Photography, and last but not least Art.The reason I would like to take Home aic is because it will be easy and my Mom take and she enjoyed it.Now the reason I picked Photography is because I am good at taking Photos and it will be a super easy class.I picked Art because its fun and easy so it would be a win win.

For the things that will be hard to get used to will be shower after gym and using lockers.I think I will never get used to taking showers.I know I will get used to lockers because they will be easy to use and keep this in.The hard thing getting used to will be the lock on the locker but am not worried so whatever!

  10. I am pretty excited about junior high and not excited, first I'll tell why I'm excited I get to meet some new friends, try out some new stuff and see some interesting stuff. I also will take some new classes and etc. And this is why I'm not excited I will have to start my life all over (in school) again. And meet new people but I don't really want to. I would just be ok with the people I know already. So I might have some fun during the school knew year besides going to school 8:25, but I like coming home at 2:50.

The classes I'm going to take are construction class, science class, robotics class, French class, Mandarin class, sports teams, gym class, trips over the world in spring break. And I can' remember the 2 other.

I'm not really sure what I will get use to but I will find out when I go to junior high.

  11. I am pretty excited for middle school or Jr. high whichever you want to call it, but am really nervous because well Just because. Even though I'm not even in grade six yet ,I'm in grade five, I am still excited and nervous and will be for a while. The reason I'm excited is because well you get to pick some classes and you get lockers and by the way I have wanted a locker ever since I discovered what they were and what they did. I'm nervous because I'm really small and if you watch a tv show or movie based on high school, middle school, or Jr. high you start to think you'll get pushed into a locker which is what would happen to me with my luck and another reason is because I would have TONS of homework and the last reason I'm nervous is because I get sick ALOT I mean ALOT.

The classes I would probably take would include chemistry/science, math, social, and whatever other classes you would take to become a veterinarian. For extra curricular activities I would take band or choir.

The hardest things to get used to would be making new friends because not all your friends will go to the same school as you in grade 7, also another thing would be I would probably be the smallest there and I would have lots of homework. The next things it would take time for me to get used to is different teachers and classrooms for different subjects, and not very long breaks and no recesses. The only reason why I said recesses is because I really need exercise and I get hyper if I don't get fresh air really hyper hahahahahahahhahhahahha! Let's deem me insane now shall we?

  12. First off, you don't have homework every day, I know someone in junior high and he does have homework but doesn't everyday and secondly showering is absolutely the hardest, most terrible thing in all of junior high, I don't know how I will to go on when I will have to shower. Why are multiple classrooms the end of you, is it because of the walking, more then one teacher or having more then one set of binders. You make it sound like Junior high is the worst thing that can ever happen to a person but, in truth it really isn't all that bad, of course the bad things you said are true (other than the showering bit) but, the pros greatly overpower the cons. Answers: I am excited because I get to see the people I haven't seen for a while and that we finally have lockers woo! I am taking the core subjects (obviously) as well as outdoor education, band and shop. Not a lot but, of course I wouldn't know because I have gotten used to anything because I have been there.

  13. I am very excited for middle school because it will be a whole new adventure. You will be able to make new friends, try new classes and meet and work with new teachers. It will be a different experience even if you are not excited. On the other hand I am not that excited because the classes will be a lot harder and you will have a lot more homework once you are in middle school, you don't have as much time to do whatever you want any more like you did in elementary school.

I don't really know what options,I also don't know how many classes there are so I am going to guess. When I am in junior high I think I am going to do music, science, social, math, gym and finally I will take a second language, maybe French or Spanish.

I think the hardest part and the most difficult of middle school, would be the amount of homework each night,I don't know if I could handle all that homework. Dont get me wrong I love homework but not all day everyday.

  14. I do not like elementary school because, I don't get to pick classes of my interests. I will pick carpentry because I wan't to be an iron worker when I am older. One other thing that I would want to do is robotics.

I am fine with middle school
I will take robotics and carpentry
    None

  15. I'm excited for middle school because all the new classes we get to take there when we get to middle school next year. One of the classes that I'm going to take is cooking because my dad is a cook and my grandfather is a world renown chef so that's what class I'm probably going to take cooking class.

parts that is hard to get used to is probably the whole locker thing where instead of a desk a locker that is going to be hard getting used to and the whole take a shower after being in gym class.

thats is all for now MEOW.......................................?

  16. Great blog nugget!! I totally agree that middle school is going to have some getting used to. Heck, I've been worrying about middle school for 3 years! And I totally agree to giants being all around you! But I think that middle school is going to be fun, and besides, I still have another year until I get there. To answer your questions, I am very excited for middle school but I agree that it will be scary to be the smallest person in middle school. I am a perfectionist in school,(even though I get straight A's) but if I wasn't, I probably would not worry about the school work. The thing I most dread about Jr. high is all the homework and tests and projects and hard work!!!

I have always thought that sewing and mechanics would be cool to take. I don't know much about jr.high so I don't know if these would be an option. For God sakes, I don't even know what middle school I am going to! I also think that taking another language besides French would be super duper awesome! Or maybe I should just go to a French immersion school since one of my biggest goals in life is to learn 3 languages.

Since I am not in middle school yet, I don't know what parts are hard or not.

  17. Nice blog,I think in grade 6 it is not that hard, but in Jr.High school it is going to get harder then now.I think that lockers are better then hooks because then no body goes and breaks into it.

I am a little excited about middle school because it is a higher grade.

I am going to take art, gym, and other things.

    To do art good.

  18. I'm only in grade five and I'm excited for Jr. High. But I also cuivre in fear at the though of having to find your class room. My big sister says "It's not that bad ",but my brother...not so much. But love the thought of a locker,I don't know maybe because I can keep my stuff all in one place.

What classes I'm going to take, I don't know what kind of classes I'm going to take THAT'S TWO YEARS AWAY! Sorry, I know that question was for grade six. But, the school I want to go to (Vimy Ridge) has programmes and want to go into ether Outdoor Pursuits or Sports Reck. But my teacher said I have to go to Victoria School of performing and Visual Arts. If I don't he said he'll be very disappointed.

Sigh,You Nugget I just don't know. Maybe the lockers or the new teachers, classes new people. Well I still have another year to think about all the details, HA HA HA!!
