Sports VS. Video Games
Sports vs. video games has become a very, very big debate, and I just happen to realise that right now, so I'm gonna write a blog post about it;
video games is a big household argument. For example; your mom or dad won't let you play more than half an hour of video games a day (my dad does, anyway). Some people like that fact, some people don't. My friend, epic cat 600 (screen name), even says I have bad parents, on that fact, but that's just a bit of an example of what friends are like!! I think that videogames can be a waste of my time AND something to do when I'm really bored. Ex.: let's say I'm at my friends house and all he/she wants to do is video games when it's, like, 20 DEGREES CELSIUS and there's NO clouds[not pointing fingers] and you got the Heebee-Jeebees; BAD. Let's say you just woke up and it's SATURDAY!! and you're really tired 'n' you can't think of anything good to do; GOOD.
Sports, on the other hand, can be even BETTER than playing an XBOX ONE for the first time!!! I love sports and who doesn't, for that matter! I have played soccer since I was 5 and stopped playing hockey when I was 5 1/2. For me there's always something going on about sports Ex. The Olympics! For me, Its kinda hard NOT to think about sports once a day!
So: The big question is: what would win: VIDEO GAMES or SPORTS?!?! Well, If you ask me, THEY BOTH WIN!!!!!! :P
I think that video games are better than sports, because you can play video games more than sports, because you can only play sports in the summer and you have to have lots of space to play most of the sports that are good. In the summertime, when there is lots of space, I would rather do sports, instead of video games, because I don't really get to play any sports, except for soccer. In my free time, when I have nothing to do and I am to tired to play sports, video games are a good thing to have, so you can play on them and you will not get tired and you will have some fun playing games.
ReplyDeleteVideo games are really good for when you get home from something that makes you really tired, but sports are better, when you are full of energy and you have a nice wide space.
~black belt ninja
Hey black belt.... you ever heard of the Winter Olympics??? Sports that take place in the winter....that is crazy!!
DeleteI love playing my XBOX ONE because its the best to play with your friends,I also play my Xbox 360 once in awhile.I play all sorts of games ranging from first person shooters to arcade but the best games to play for me is the best game the world Fifa 13 because there's so much teams. In Fifa 13 you can be one of the best teams in the world like FC Bayern,Juventus,Chelsea,FC Barcelona,Real Madrid,Manchester United and Manchester city which is a great team but my favourite two favourite teams in the world are FC Bayern and FC Barcelona.
ReplyDeleteSports are just as good as games except you actually get to stand up move around and be active in sports. My favourite sport is Soccer because a lot of people in my family play and encourage me to play it.I started playing Soccer when I was 8 but then I played a few years of other sports before that like Football.
When I got interested in to Soccer again I started playing with the big kids on U 14 and U 12, For a time I have played U 10n to but thats when I wasn't into sports and i was lazy so I never ran or actually grabbed the ball from someone.
pureownage54
Hey pureownage,
DeleteI bet it wouldn't be any fun to see your friends face-to face. Let's just talk to all humans over an xbox mic or cell phone....we would never have to see anyone ever again. No interaction would be the best.
Superman
I totally agree, Superman. No interaction sounds amazing.

In my opinion video games have been more interesting to me because there are more things to do because of all the types of video games\simulators out there. I do play sports as well though I like Soccer,Basketball,Golf,Vollyball and some others. For example me my brother and my father go out to parks in the summer time to play sports and play on the equipment and play some other things there as well.
ReplyDeleteI don't spend all day and all of the weekends playing games but i do find them fun and addictive like many people in this world do as well. I know there are lots of people out there that don't enjoy playing video games as much as I do but I do know a'lot of people that spend all day on electronics like my brother or my friend Austin. So the point is I don't spend my time all day playing video games I mix it up. So the conclusion is that There both great fun.

Great post Pat_thebunny+. but video games versus sports, FIGHT!. FATALITY! I did play soccer when I was 5, but I no longer play soccer. i enjoy playing Gta online(which is a video game) and I'm lv 19... BEAT THAT! The reason I like video games so much is because I'm not that great at sports.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite sport is still soccer. My favorite video game is GTA: San Andreas. Grove street all the way. but In the summer I play sports with my sister, step brother and my step sister. But because I like playing video games over sports sometimes, don't call me someone that lives in their mothers basement.
I don't really like any other sports. Don't yell at me, jeez I can play tennis in games, I'm happy with that :-). So don't bug me. Soccer is really fun and enjoyable and also easy to play.

DeleteThis in my opinion is very good blog for me Pat_thebunny I like it.
ReplyDeleteSports in my opinion is better than video games they have many more advantages over video games .
Sports give you exercise and they are exciting and that is better than sitting on your couch the entire day and wasting your time. The sports I are currently in are rock climbing, ball hockey and a few others like golf. I love all sports.
Video games I say I only play video games on the weekend and its probably for like an 1-2 hours in a day on a day in the weekend but I don't usually play on the weekday, because they waste my time.
For the argument of sports over video games I would choose sports they have more advantages and give more opportunity than being lazy and playing video games all day.
Batman
I personally am not good at sports, so therefore I just don’t like sports. The only sport thats decent is volleyball but today, it is my sworn enemy. I also don’t like video games that much I might play a bit of call of duty, or pokemon, or minecraft once in awhile but only when its cold like really cold or i’m just really really bored which happens mostly in winter, hense is a lot of what canada is known for. I like going out side way more than video games/sports.
ReplyDeleteSince it has started to get warmer I have spent a lot of time outside like taking my dogs for walks at like 6:30 pm. Also I’ll be outside playing with my dogs or playing in puddles. I think getting fresh air doing something other than video games and sports, like walking is very important and is way way way more enjoyable to me at least.
Even going to the gym that you exersize in, is better than video games. I think and am pretty sure there is even a study on how video games affect our health so yeah. Also sports is not enjoyable to me and think sports should be against the law. If you knew me you would know I genuinely hate/ dislike sports. I also suck at sports.
princesspuppy
I forgot to mention board games are also fun like monopoly and chest
Deleteprincesspuppy
I do not play sports or play video games. I do not like video games because they are entertaining and are boring plus I do not have video games. Since I do not play video games I do not think they win. Now, to talk about sports is boring for me and to play sports while lets just the only time I play sports is when I am gym.[I do not like sports very much] One reason I do not like sports is because I always get hurt.
ReplyDeleteOne thing that I like to do is read. I like to read because it makes feel like I am that person in the story and I am the person doing something weird or wild because in the real I would be too chicken to do it. Now that is why I love reading.
So in my conclusion both sports and video games lose and reading wins for life but that is only what I think.Reading is awesome not video games and sports.
-Tigerlilly
Well, choose video games because I suck at sports and you could play sports on a console and you won't have to break a sweat. Plus, you could exercise your thumbs while having fun. Sports you just get all sweating and I dont like it when I could of just stayed home and play on my console. I think most people would pick sports, the ones that will, why do you like going outside and getting sweaty when you can just stay home and play it on your console. But on the other hand you could save A LOT of money playing sports, lets say you want a Xbox 360, you would need to buy the console, which cost around 250 dollars for a 250 GB, if you want to play online you would need a Xbox membership which is 60 dollars a month, some games cost A LOT of money, if you want a camera so the Xbox could see you and you could play a couple of extra games well that is 150 dollars. Sports on the other hand cost nothing. Get a net and some balls and a team then your done. Cough* Playstation sucks Cough*
ReplyDelete-Nugget
Ummm, well lets just say that you can't pick because there is SOOOOO much variety of the both. I guess I would rather play Hockey then play "Mario eats a burger and explodes". But I would rather play Cinderella's magical warfare then play soccer. I mean I guess video games have a WAY larger variety... You got your console you got you games ( by the way there is probably over 5000 games and like 200 sports not including the traditional native sports.) So anyway, they both have there pros and cons. For example there is DEAD RISING, MINECRAFT, FORZA 5. But there is also SOCCER, HOCKEY, FOOTBAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, DODGE BALL, and all that good stuff. so yeah I like them both
ReplyDeleteNice blog,I never knew that you liked soccer and hockey.I do not have any video games at home because my dad does not let me have some.I just have a broken D.S and my dad has a nokia phone. My dad when he was young he got his first phone when he was 24 years old,but I want to get phone when I have lots of money.
ReplyDeleteI think that video games make you lazy, and make you not go outside.I think I like sports better than video games.
Since I mostly don't play video games I am leaning toward the sports side, but I am not saying I have never played video games before. I do enjoy video games occasionally, but not all the time. Since I only have the Wii it is very hard to find fun games that I can play on the Wii. For some reason they stopped or very rarely manufacture Wii video games. I also think that children are constantly on there video games and are not getting as much interaction with the outside. A lot of people would disagree with me in saying that sports are better than video games. That is fine because everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
ReplyDeleteI think that sports are better that video games because they are more interactive than video games. They also get children and adults having a healthier and happier lifestyle. Another good thing about sports is that you can make a career and in video games you can't make a career out of it. Plus there is such a variety of sports to play. So if you don't like one you can always try another sport. So that is my opinion and it is ok if you don't come in agreement with me.
~The smile maker
I think video games are like sports like where you have a hockey tournament or a video game tournament just saying.
ReplyDeleteI think they would both win also because you got video games for when your bored or your relaxing and also, if you don't like the sort of moving around getting exercise of sports there are sports video games out there. with video games you technically getting exercise by exercising your fingers. There's 1 flaw with video games it's addictive so you don't want to stop playing them. with sports you're getting exercise by moving around in sports such as hockey, soccer, football pretty much every sport you play you move around and get exercise.
If I had to chose between video games and sports it would be video games because there's a lot more to do with video games and video games are cool

As writing the MAIN post we're commenting on, its kinda, well, REALLY hard to comment on my OWN post. I would say that every human in north america has played videogames (except the hobo down by the river...). I would agree that videogames are fun but I actually like sports better (despite my main post). I like sports better because they're REAL and they're just as fun as videogames. Let me put it this way: sports = fun+activity. Videogames = controller+hands+screen+console+electrical plug-in. Videogames are much more complicated and confusing. Sports are very simple and fun and a great way to burn off steam.
ReplyDelete~Pat_thebunny+
I would pick both sides because, I play sports and video games I only get to play video games on Friday for 20 minutes or so, and on the weekends or days I don't go to school. For sports I could do any time, because I'm going swimming this week. I also do lot's of other sports such as, biking, jogging, skateboard, snowboard, kung fu, and tons more. On the other hand video games aren't always worth playing everyday. If I chose I think 50/50 for both sides. I do some sports everyday, but not everyone can play play video games every day but you can do some sort of sports everyday. I play my video games on my PS3, PS4, computer, and my iPad2, and PS2 but I don't really play it. On my free time at home I usually have a snowball fight with my brother and friend I will consider it as a sport in some way because at least you do some movement and not sit around for an hour doing nothing. I still like my PS4 because there's a new game coming out I rrreeeeeaaallyy want!!! And my PS3 has some new games coming out to.
ReplyDelete-Random Crazy Guy
So I don't think I can respond to this because I don't sit in my basement and play video games all day like some people. One thing is if all you think about all day is sports then now I understand why someone yells at you alot do you get it now. I do some sports so I guess that's something to talk about. Well soon I'm going to take ballet and, when I was nine I did cheer but then I quit because I didn't like it as much and when I was maybe around 4 or 5 till I was 8 I did jazz dance and then the studio closed down so I had to leave.
ReplyDeleteYour question about sports and video games well I believe that sports are better because of all the exercises you get and because you can play as many games as you can think of well not on a screen but outside or even inside but I don't think your guardian will enjoy you playing hockey or football...etc in the house but if they do good for you. First of all you might get to play with your friends on a screen but you can have more interaction with them and yeah. so I think thats it bye!
~CocaCola
I think if there was some sort of huge debate, that sports would win because of the fact that it is free, good exercise and fun (to some people) However, others may disagree with that statement and say that they are not fun and some equipment costs a lot of money. I personally do not have an opinion on this topic because I do not play sports or video games (I like the song by Lana Del Ray though). Videos games can be good on a rainy day or in winter whereas you can not play most common sports in winter at -30c. Obviously hockey and skating, bobsleigh and games of that sort are winter sports but I'm talking about soccer, basketball and that type of sports.
ReplyDeleteWhen there is not much to do that is when video games come in handy however are some downsides e.g. it is not good to look at a screen or stay inside all day, etc. Sports are great during summer when you can't think of what to do the downside is that you need another person to play a proper game.
